Self-doubt is a sneaky little thing.
It can feel like it’s just the truth, that you’re just being honest with yourself.
“I can’t do this,” or “I won’t be able to do this,” or “This won’t work for me.”
Seems so true sometimes, right?
Then you get to use these “truths” as an excuse to not move forward.
You can’t not binge? Then go ahead and binge.
You won’t be able to stop binge eating? Then don’t even try to stop.
This won’t work? Then don’t even try it.
Take the easy way out.
Or you can see self-doubt for what it really is.
It’s a lack a confidence in your abilities.
That’s all you’re missing.
You’re not missing the capability, just the confidence.
You CAN do it, you WILL be able to do it, and this CAN work for you.
But you’ll never be able to see this until you get past your self-doubt and prove it.
You can live in these “truths” you’ve been telling yourself over and over, or you can search for the new truth.
Truth is what you believe, it’s what you accept.
So you can accept that you can’t and then stop trying, or you can open yourself up to idea that none of this is true.
Also, there’s something you should know about self-doubt.
Whenever you try something new, self-doubt is going to creep in at some point. It might happen before you start, in the middle, or right before you have a major breakthrough.
But just because it’s there doesn’t mean you have to let it stop you from moving forward.
You can feel self-doubt and keep going anyway.
How do you do that?
Recognize that you’re feeling it, and that all it means is that you’re not feeling confident yet, and remind yourself that the confidence will come from trying and doing.
It sure isn’t going to come from giving up.
You can feel doubt about being able to stop binge eating and give up, or you can see this doubt for what it is, and still take action.
You are so much more capable than you think you are.
I honestly believe there is no one out there who isn’t capable of creating the eating habits they truly want. The steps you need to take to make that happen are simple, but applying those steps isn’t always easy. But that’s okay, because you can do hard things!
Let me help you do the hard things. Start by booking a free mini session with me and I’ll show you what needs to be done.
It’s time to drop the self doubt and gain that confidence.
