Your Favorite Things and Why They Matter

What are 10 of your favorite things in the whole world? Seriously, list them.

Is an unhealthy food, or food in general on that list?

There’s also a possibility that binge eating could be on it. Think about it. It might be one of your favorite activities for experiencing freedom, relief, or excitement.

If food is in your top 10, and especially if it’s close to the number one spot, then stopping binge eating is going to be much more difficult for you.

When you love eating all kinds of junk food and binge eating, so much that it’s one of your favorite things, it makes it scary, maybe even sad, to think about what life would be like without them.

What would you look forward to? What would you do with your time?
Your identity would change. You would become a person who does other things and thinks about other things.

Are you willing to make that change and see who else you can be?
Ten of my favorite things include the ocean, laughing with friends, karaoke, live music, helping people change their lives, walking outside in the fresh air, traveling, playing the drums, tap dancing, and amusement parks.

There’s no food and no eating activities on that list.

All of these things listed I love more than french fries. And I think french fries are delicious.

But if I never had a french fry again in my entire life, I would honestly be okay. If I had to choose between french fries and something else on my list to give up forever, the french fries would be gone, hands down.

What does your list look like?

Is your favorite binge food on there? Is binge eating on there?
You might want to reconsider the amount of importance you’re putting on them and start thinking of other things you love more. Otherwise, it’s just going to make it a lot more difficult for you to have less binge eating and less junk food eating in your life.
